I am Rakesh Yadav & I was TPO with some of the top engineering colleges in C.G namely Shankaracharya group of Institutions & Rungta Group of Colleges. At the end of this post I will share two of my best and most popular CV formats or samples to download for free which are widely used among engineering students from C.G based colleges.
In this post I am going to talk about how many types of CV Or Resume TCS looks for, Difference between CV & Resume, TCS Career Objectives for various engineering branches.
How many total pages a good cv as per TCS requirement should a fresher or TCS aspirant must have ? & last but not the list various cross questions on CV (Title & Subtitle, Vocational Training, Project, Area of Interests, Strength, Weaknesses, Extra Curricular activities, Technical skills).
So, let’s get started.
First let’s understand Career Objective for TCS ?, Being a TPO and had done very successful campus recruitment drives of TCS I can say that TCS or any company be it IT or Core never demands much from a frehers except their % eligibility criteria , Score in TCS Aptitude test, and rest is Technical , GD, HR-PI.
But still freshers write so many things in their CV having not known the exact &.So, if you agree to me that TCS does least importance to how much heavy and big your cv is then follow below mentioned do’s & don’ts before preparing your Cv for upcoming
First, Number of Total Pages for a freshers CV: Not more than two. Second, Text font and style as per my sample cv (I have researched on each section’s font size and style of attached CV samples below) given at the end of this post (You can just download them and paste your data to create fresh CV with professional text font size and styles).
Third, Whether to show Semester wise score or Aggregate ? : I would say always show aggregate % until & unless it is mentioned by the TCS or the company coming for campus or told by your colleges TPO.
Reason is, If you mention semester wise % score then many extra questions may arise like, Why your percentage has been down in 3rd – 4th semester as compared to first year ?
Or If your percentage score is good in few semesters then HR may consider you a talented students and may ask you little difficult questions which could have been avoided if you had not specifically shwon them.
So , its better to show aggregate % till the last semesters means If you are in 7th semester now and TCS is going to visit your colleges the show the aggregate % till 6th semester.
How to calculate aggregate % is very simple, if we take above example then just add your marks obtained from 1st to 6th semester & divide them by total marks from 1st to 6th sem. and finally multiply the result with 100.
